Rural Development Loans Awarded To Local Projects

(Washington, D.C.)– Some economic development projects in northwest Iowa have been awarded Rural Development funding through the U-S Department of Agriculture.

Corn Belt Power Cooperative was awarded a 250-thousand dollar loan to finance upgrading of the KLM Acquisition Corporation, doing business as Alum Limited in Bancroft.

A 300-thousand dollar grant was awarded to Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative to help construct an Alzheimer’s Unit at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

And the Northwest Iowa Electric Cooperative was granted a 740-thousand dollar loan to assist in the upgrading of Wells Blue Bunny’s corporate campus in Le Mars.

A total of 800-thousand dollars in grants and seven million dollars in loans were awarded statewide in Iowa for various rural development projects.
