(Spencer)– A Laurens man remains hospitalized after he was thrown from a moped in Spencer Monday.
51-year-old David Woodin was seriously injured around 4:00 p.m. near the intersection of West Fourth Street and Tompkins Court, across the street from Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
Woodin was heading north on Tompkins Court when he applied the front brake, causing him to be thrown from the moped. The crash left scrapes on the street.
Woodin was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. He was later life-flighted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls where he is listed in critical condition.
About 600-dollars in damage was estimated to the moped.
