(Peterson)– Officials believe a fire that damaged a children’s home near Peterson started in a closet.
The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in a residential building at the Midwest Christian Children’s Home.
No one was hurt, but eight boys were evacuated.
Peterson Fire Chief John Winterboer says the building was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
The closet, which is on the second floor, was used for storage. The cause remains under investigation.
The residential building is one of three buildings on the children’s home campus. 22 children live there.
