(Spirit Lake)– Numerous charges have been filed against a bicyclist in connection with an incident Friday in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say an officer made contact with a bicyclist at the corner of Lake Street and Gary Avenue. The officer noticed an item in the subject’s right sock consistent with drug paraphernalia. When questioned about the item the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Kirk Crosby of Spirit Lake, allegedly assaulted the officer and attempted to flee on foot. Crosby was apprehended and booked into the Dickinson county jail.
He was charged with possession of marijuana…third offense…an aggravated misdemeanor; assault on a peace officer…a serious misdemeanor; interference with official acts…a simple misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor; and public intoxication…second or subsequent offense…a serious misdemeanor.
