(Lake Park)– Area residents on Medicare are highly urged to attend an informational meeting next week in Lake Park.
Barb Ruppert of the Spencer-based Northwest Aging Association tells KUOO news the meeting will explain some forthcoming changes to the prescription drug part of the Medicare Program. Ruppert says her office has been getting deluged with calls from people who have questions about the changes and are confused. She says the informational meetings will address that.
The informational meeting for Lake Park will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23rd at the Lake Park Community Center. Those wishing to participate in Dinner Date that day should make reservations by calling 832-3413 or 800-242-5033.
Ruppert says the goal is to get more information out about the changes between now and November. She says Medicare recipients will be able to start signing up for the new program in November. The program takes effect January 1st, 2006.
