Storm Lake police are investigating the death of a Denison woman…
who’s body was found Friday morning at a local motel.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the Vista Budget Inn
at 1316 North Lake Avenue, where they found the body of 27-year-old Jennifer
Christo. She had been located in the room by a male friend, who had been
with her earlier in the morning. Police determined the death of Christo was
suspicious and called in the D-C-I crime lab team from Ankeny. Four D-C-I
agents joined police investiators in conducting a series of interviews and
in the collection of evidence. The Buena Vista County Medical Examiners
office also assisted in the investigation.
Three search warrants were executed throughout the day in connection
with the evidence. One was executed at the scene of the death to retrieve
evidence. A second search was made at a residence at 1515 Maple Street in
Storm Lake… and a third was executed on an adult male to retrieve possible
evidence.
An autopsy was performed late Friday afternoon by the state medical
examiner’s office in Sioux City. Results of the autopsy are pending. Police
say the death is suspicious, and no arrests have been made.
