Spencer House Fire

Spencer Firefighters were on the scene of a house fire for for nearly 2 hours early Tuesday morning.

According to Spencer Fire Chief Doug Duncan, his Department was called out to the fire at 2am yesterday at 334 8th Street SW in Spencer, the home of Tami Heidebrink.

At the scene, firefighters found heavy smoke pouring from the house. They were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area of the home.

The occupants of the home were able to get out uninjured. Also, no injuries were reported by the Firemen.

An investigation determined the cause of the blaze to be unattended cooking materials on the stove.

Fire damage was reported to the kitchen, with smoke damage throughout the entire structure.

Firefighters remained on scene for 2 hours yesterday morning. The Spencer Police Department and the Spencer ambulance crew assisted the scene.
