An Estherville woman was killed in car-semi collision Tuesday in Kossuth County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 51 year old Catherine Bryant has died of injuries suffered during the crash yesterday around 2pm at the intersection of Highways 15 and 18, near Whittemore.
Bryant was traveling in a 1998 Ford Taurus when she crossed the centerline and struck a semi-tanker head on.
Bryant was transported to Kossuth Regional Healthcare, and later airlifted Mercy Medical Center in Mason City where she was pronounced dead. The truck driver, 35 year old Michael Fiebrecht of Rembrandt, was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Both vehicles were totalled in the crash.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Kossuth County Sheriffs Department, the Whittemore ambulance, and the Algona ambulance crew.
