A Milford man was arrested yesterday after eluding police officers for almost an hour. 25 year old Juan Jesus Mata Jr. was charged with both domestic assault and interference with official acts, both serious misdemeanors. Police Chief Vernon Flack says his department was called to 1411 6th Street Lot 1-oh-7 on the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arriving the subject was gone. A short time later officers were called back to the residence and were told the man had barricaded himself in a bedroom. Officers from Arnolds Park, Okoboji, Spirit Lake, and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s office were called in for backup and broke into the room to find Mata gone. A 45 minute search of woods and ravines near the home was conducted before Mata was located, arrested, and booked into the Dickinson County jail.
