(Spencer)– A Spencer woman who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision near Emmetsburg in January is now facing charges in connection with the accident.
23-year-old Tiffany Kollasch is charged with supplying alcohol to a minor resulting in death…a class “D” felony.
On January 27th, Kollasch was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Lacy Peterson of Spencer when she lost control of the car after passing another vehicle on Highway 18 just west of Emmetsburg. Peterson’s car struck a bridge, and was then struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Dominetric Jones of Emmetsburg.
Peterson was killed in the collision. Kollasch was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota with a broken pelvis, a lacerated kidney and liver, bruised lungs and broken vertebrae in her lower back.
Investigators with the State Patrol believe Kollasch and Peterson had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash. Kollasch is charged with supplying the alcohol to Lacey Peterson.
State Patrol Lt. Kelly Hindman says the patrol will continue to aggressively investigate these types of collisions and file the appropriate charges.
