Car vs. Motorcycle Accident Sends One Person To LRH

(Spirit Lake)– A car-motorcycle accident this (Monday) morning in Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital.

The Spirit Lake Police Department says a 2001 Chevrolet driven by 42-year-old Brenda Pike of Spirit Lake and a 2000 Kawasaki Motorcycle driven by 55-year-old Daniel Miller of Spirit Lake collided in the intersection of 15th Street and Erie Avenue. Miller was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with what was described as non-incapacitating injuries. No injuries were reported to Pike.

Authorities say Pike, who was traveling on 19th Street, had pulled out from a stop sign and collided with Miller. Pike was cited for failure to yield.

Four thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Pike with a thousand dollars in damage estimated to the motorcycle.

The mishap took place shortly after 6:00 a.m.
