(Spencer)– The Corridor of Opportunity has a new Executive Director.
Board member Ivan Brown of Spirit Lake says Kathy Everetts has been hired to oversee the agency that promotes economic development in Clay and Dickinson counties.
Everett begins her new duties September 15th.
She comes to the Corridor from the Davenport area where she was Vice President of Economic Development for the Chamber of Commerce. Everett has also worked in economic development in northeastern Nebraska and Burlington, Iowa.
Brown says Everett was one of three candidates that were interviewed for the position out of 12 that candidates that were initially identified. He says Everett’s extensive experience in economic development and a very successful background is what put her above the others. He says Everett is excited about going to work for the corridor and is looking forward to their goal of expanding the corridor and further promoting economic development on a regional basis.
Everett succeeds Chad Shryock as the Corridor’s Executive Director. He resigned effective June 1st to accept a position as a City Manager with a city in Florida.
