(Spirit Lake)– The 2005 Dickinson County Fair gets underway this Sunday and continues through Thursday, August 4th in Spirit Lake.
Karen Byers of the Dickinson County Extension Office says exhibit numbers are pretty close to last year. She says about 600 static exhibits are entered among the various 4-H clubs in the county, along with additional exhibits in open class. Byers says livestock numbers are up a bit from previous years. She says they’ve had to add on some stalls to the horse barn.
There is a bit of a change in the schedule this year. The Dairy Show has been moved to 2:00 p.m. Sunday and all communications events will start at 6:00 p.m. Monday. In the past they had been spread throughout the run of the fair.
A new attraction at this year’s fair will be a dinner concert at 5:30 p.m. Sunday with music by Sober Tuesdays and Shawn Mayer. The Dickinson County Beef Producers will be grilling steaks. The cost is 10-dollars.
