(Arnolds Park)– Officials with the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum are again sounding off on the benefits of a proposal that would transfer ownership of the green space east of the Arnolds Park Amusement Park to the city of Arnolds Park.
As we reported previously, an unnamed benefactor has expressed an interest in purchasing the green space from the Maritime Museum, then transfer the deed to the city of Arnolds Park. Jim Frost of the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum says the use of the green space for concerts and other venues wouldn’t be changed. He says the city would be the best entity to ensure the green space remains in the event the Maritime Museum Board should cease to exist sometime in the future.
Frost says talks continue between the benefactor, foundation, city of Arnolds Park and Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum.
