Domestic Disturbance Lands Two People In Jail On Drug Charges; Pot Operation Uncovered

(Spencer)– A report of a domestic disturbance last week in Clay county led officers to a marijuana growing operation and landed two people from Greenville in jail.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and state troopers were called to a report of a domestic disturbance at 2310 440th Street around 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, deputies learned a woman at that location had been assaulted and the suspect, identified as Robert Wiese, had fled. Upon searching for Wiese, deputies came across illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia and a marijuana growing operation. Wiese was eventually located on the property and was arrested. He was charged with domestic assualt, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, manufacturing of marijuana and five counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

Debra Chapman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, manufacturing marijuana and five counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

Wiese and Chapman were both booked into the Clay county jail. Bond for Wiese was set at 20,475-dollars; Chapman’s bond was set at 18,525-dollars.
