Spencer United Way Kicks Off Annual Fund Drive

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The United Way of Spencer has officially kicked off its 2005 fundraising campaign.

Organization president Joe Connover says the goal is 100-thousand dollars, the same as last year when they were able to completely fund pledges to 22 organizations, even though they were just short of meeting their fundraising goal.

Connover stresses that all donations stay locally, except 500-dollars which goes to the national United Way organization.

Connover adds that in the past 10 years, United Way of Spencer has given more than a million dollars back to the community. He says that translates to a higher quality of life for most citizens.

The fundraising campaign continues through mid-September.
