Pickup vs. Motorcycle Wreck Sends One Person To The Hospital

(Spencer)– A crash involving a pick-up and a motorcycle last (Sunday) evening in southern Clay county sent one person to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 51-year-old Steven Schuknecht of Albert City was southbound on County Road M-36 and had stopped for a stop sign at the Highway 10 intersection when he pulled into the path of a motorcycle driven by 30-year-old Shane Gosch of Bayard, Iowa.

Gosch was taken by the Peterson ambulance to Spencer Hospital with unknown injuries. No injuries were reported to Schuknecht.

Two-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a pickup driven by Schuknecht; damage to a 2000 Suzuki Motorcycle driven by Gosch was estimated at 2,500-dollars.

Schuknecht was charged with failure to yield after stopping.

The mishap took place shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
