(Okoboji)– Minor damage was reported in a fire Wednesday evening at an Okoboji restaurant.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Chief Chris Youngbluth says firefighters were called to Tweeters shortly after 7:00 p.m. Upon arriving Youngbluth says light smoke was coming from an appliance in the kitchen area. He says firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire which was contained to the appliance. He says it appears a build-up of grease in a trap ignited. Damage was very minimal. Youngbluth says some patrons that were in the establishment at the time were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene less than an hour.
The restaurant is temporarily closed but is expected to re-open in another day or so.
