(Spirit Lake)– The Good Neighbor Fund of Spirit Lake and Okoboji is kicking off its annual fund drive this week. Chairman Curt Johnson says things are getting kicked off today (Monday) with “Good Neighbor Week”. While they’re encouraging as many people as possible to donate to the Good Neighbor Fund this week, Johnson says they’ll be accepting contributions through December.
There is a bit of a change this year. Instead of a mail campaign, they’re urging everyone to watch for a contribution form in this week’s Lakes News Shopper. Johnson says you’ll be able to designate a specific organization to receive your contribution if you so wish.
This year’s goal is 70-thousand dollars.
The Good Neighbor Fund benefits 11 non-profit organizations that serve Dickinson county.
