(Undated)– An open seat on the Clay Central-Everly school board had to be decided by a write-in campaign Tuesday as no one filed nomination papers. Brad Phelps was declared the winner with 88 votes. There was a scattering of other write-ins.
In the Spencer School District, Dean Mechler and Leslie Zobrist were elected to two open seats. Mechler received 540 votes and Zobrist had 448. Susan Harman received only 329 votes.
Michael Hildebrand and Troy Mayland were uncontested for their seats on the South Clay School Board.
