November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The Clay County Community Foundation is now accepting Community Betterment Grant Applications for the 2005 annual disbursement of funding from the Iowa Department of Economic Development.

Kevin Robinson of the Clay County Foundation tells KUOO news the Iowa Department of Economic Development has doled out funds through a Community Betterment Grant program. It consists of counties that do not have riverboat casinos. Robinson says they have roughly 45-thousand dollars to award in this, the first year of the program.

Robinson says projects that will be awarded funding need to meet certain criteria. More information and application forms are available at city clerk’s offices throughout Clay county and the I-S-U Etxension Service office in Spencer. All grant applications must be turned in by November 1st, 2005.
