(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday voted five-to-nothing to approve a bid from Scott Transfer and Storage of Estherville to move the first phase of the courthouse. Scott was one of four companies to submit proposals. It’s in the amount of 104-dollars an hour, which includes four movers and a truck.
The supervisors also approved three changeorders for the courthouse project totalling 34,619-dollars. They are for items such as control valves in the jail; modifications to some ceramic tiles in restrooms; modifications to walls and masonry around the interior of some windows in the area of the jail; additional vents for a generator fuel storage tank; and some electrical modifications in the courtrooms. Changeorders to date total 199,529-dollars…nearly 29 percent of the amount that was budgeted for changes.
The supervisors also voted to purchase two new servers and five new drives for the county’s computer system at a cost of 27,307-dollars, including necessary software. That came in under the 30-thousand dollars that was budgeted.
The supervisors also voted unanimously to sign off on a letter of support at the request of the Iowa Great Lakes Water Safety Council. Among other things, council spokesman Phil Petersen says they’re considering a recommendation the DNR adopt a new administrative rule setting a night-time speed limit on the lakes of around 25 miles-per-hour.
