(Sioux City)– A Sheldon man has been indicted in U-S District Court on a methamphetamine charge.
24-year-old Dustin Leigh Howard, also known as Rodger, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine within a thousand feet of a school. Howard was also charged with distributing a controlled substance to a minor.
The charges are contained in an indictment filed February 3rd. The information alleges that between November 2002 through July 9th, 2003, Howard conspired with others to manufacture methamphetamine within a thousand feet of the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Middle School in Sanborn and delivered a controlled substance to a person under the age of 21.
If convicted Howard faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 80 years; a four million dollar fine and eight years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
Howard appeared Tuesday in U-S District Court in Sioux City and was ordered held without bond. Trial is set for April 3rd.
