(Sioux City)– A Primghar man has been indicted in U-S District Court on meth charges.
U-S Attorney Charles W. Larson, Senior says 39-year-old Orrin Bernard Cain has been charged with one count of conspiring to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine within a thousand feet of the South O’Brien Middle School in Primghar and distributing meth and pseudoephedrine to persons under the age of 21. The charges are contained in an indictment filed March 21st in U-S District Court in Sioux City.
The indictment says the alleged incidents took place between 1993 and June 10th, 2004.
If convicted Cain faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment; an eight million dollar fine and atleast 10 years up to life of supervised release following any imprisonment.
Cain appeared Wednesday in U-S District Court and was ordered held without bond. His next court appearance is set for Friday when a detention hearing will be held.
The case was investigated by the Clay, O’Brien and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Offices, the Spencer Police Department and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
