(Sheldon)– A Sheldon man is facing a plethora of charges following a short pursuit Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say just before 1:00 p.m. a Sheldon police officer attempted to stop a vehicle on 11th Street for minor traffic violations. The driver, 41-year-old Sean Gallaugher of Sheldon, refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit heading southeast out of Sheldon.
Gallaugher continued donw a level “B” road, proceeding south through thick mud, before striking a squad car. He was arrested without incident.
Gallaugher is charged with third offense operating while intoxicated; driving with a barred, revoked and suspended license; eluding; careless driving; fraudulent use of plates; speeding; failure to maintain control; driving with obstructed view; filure to use a turn signal; and failure to wear a seat belt.
Gallaugher was booked into the O’Brien county jail.
Sheldon police were assisted by the Sanborn Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
