Milford Man Receives Suspended Sentence In Storm Lake Drug Case

November 22, 2014

(Storm Lake)– Two men arrested by Storm Lake police in May on drug charges have been sentenced in Buena Vista County District Court.

Storm Lake police arrested 21-year-old Johnny Bandomo of Albert City and 21-year-old Zachary Barron of Milford after searching a room at the AmeriHost Inn as part of an ongoing drug investigation. As officers entered the room, one of two suspects in the room jumped through a plate glass window to escape. Police allege Bandomo dropped the gun as he crashed through the glass, but continued running while dropping packets of illegal drugs. Barron was apprehended in the motel room.

Bandomo pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, both class “C” felonies. He was given ten year prison sentences on both charges, to be served concurrently. Bandomo was ordered to pay 60-dollars in court costs and a 125-dollar law enforcement surcharge. Fines and surcharges of 13-hundred dollars were suspended.

Barron pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, both class “C” felonies. He was given ten-year suspended sentences on both charges and placed on three years probation. Barron was ordered to submit to a residential treatment facility, pay court-appointed attorney fees, and to pay 15-hundred dollars in fines, surcharges and court costs.
