(Sanborn)– A fiery crash Thursday evening in O’Brien county has claimed the life of a young man from Paullina.
The Iowa State Patrol says 23-year-old Jordan Fiddelke of Paullina was driving a 1996 Pontiac northbound on County Road L48 when he apparently lost control. The vehicle went into the east ditch and struck a field driveway. It then vaulted, landing in the ditch. In then exited the ditch, crossed the roadway and went into the west ditch, coming to rest in a fence line where it caught on fire.
Fiddelke was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say he was wearing seatbelts.
The crash took place shortly before 7:00 a.m.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
