(Spirit Lake)– A lakes area author is out with a new book.
Peter Davidson’s latest, titled “Murder in Okoboji”, is hitting the shelves of bookstores everywhere.
Davidson says the book is definitely something locals and those who are familiar with the Lakes Area will be able to associate with. He says it mentions a number of real life local citizens, and refers to workers at various attractions, establishments and businesses in the lakes area by name. And while the book does have some villains in it, Davidson says those names are strictly fictional.
Davidson has been writing since he was 21 years-old. He says “The Okoboji Novel” several years ago was his 23rd published book. “Murder in Okoboji” is his 24th. His earlier works included non-fiction books, college text books and children’s picture books.
Davidson says he’s always wanted to write novels, and that Okoboji always seemed to be a natural theme for the books.
When he isn’t busy writing, Davidson says he and his wife are on the road putting on seminars throughout the country.
Davidson will sign copies of his new book this Friday (June 5th) from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Hill Avenue Book Company in Spirit Lake.
Book signings are also planned for the June 25th “Rock The Roof” event at the Roof Garden and Sunday, June 28th at the Barefoot Bar. A number of the cast members mentioned in the book are scheduled to be on hand at the June 28th event.
