Memory Walk Set For October 11th

(Spirit Lake)– The date has been set for this year’s Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk.

The event will be held Sunday, October 11th at the Senior Center in Spirit Lake. Registration will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the walk starting at about 1:45 p.m.

The event is held annually to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimers care, support and research programs.

The local Memory Walk supports services provided through the association’s regional office in Spencer, including in-home repite care, information and referral, caregiver support, assessment and care planning, family and professional caregiver education and awareness group meetings.

The Spencer office serves Buena Vista, Clay, Emmet, Dickinson and Palo Alto counties. In those five counties, it’s estimated 1,900 adults have Alzheimer’s Disease or a related memory disorder.
