(Milford)– Authorities are investigating an incident in which a five-year-old girl was injured Wednesday after a jump rope got wrapped around her neck as she went down a slide at a Milford day care.
Milford police and paramedics were called to Apple Tree Daycare shortly before 2:00 p.m.
Police Chief Vernon Flack says the child was responsive when they arrived and was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. She was then airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital where she was treated and later released.
Milford police are being assisted in their investigation by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
