(Milford)– A Milford daycare at the center of an investigation by the Iowa Department of Human Services following an incident earlier this week when a five-year-old was injured after getting a jump rope wrapped around her neck apparently has a record of alleged deficiencies.
According to DHS records, a child care licensing consultant investigated Apple Tree Daycare on several occasions previously…including March 19th, 2008 and January 29th and March 6th of this year.
Complaints included dog feces on the playground, possible staffing issues and record keeping dealing with injuries and child-related incidents.
Milford police say DHS officials are also investigating an incident last week at the same daycare in which a child was found walking along Highway 71 near the daycare.
