(Estherville)– A traffic stop June 2nd and search warrants executed this past Friday on several residences in Estherville has resulted in several drug-related arrests.
Estherville police say the traffic stop took place June 2nd. Upon investigating, officers found the driver, 18-year-old Jennifer Steele of Estherville, in possession of what’s alleged to be marijuana. Steel was arrested and charged with driving while suspended, improper display of registration and possession of marijuana.
In separate incidents, Estherville police and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force executed search warrants simultaneously last Friday at 123 South 3rd Street and 935 North 4th street in Estherville, along with a consent search at 2302 3rd Avenue South, lot 75.
Another search warrant was executed that evening at 627 South 11th Street in Estherville.
The search at 123 South 3rd Street resulted in authorities seizing three automobiles, a jet ski and trailer, drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of money. The person who lives at that residence, 39-year-old Mizael Padilla, was later located at 2302 3rd Avenue South lot 75. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center after the owner of the residence allowed officers to search for Padilla. Padilla was charged with two counts of delivery of cocaine, two counts of money laundering and two counts of ongoing criminal conduct. He was booked into the Emmet county jail on a 182-thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
The search at 935 North 4th Street turned up what’s alleged to be cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. 21-year-old Juan Lopez, Jr., who lives at the residence, was arrested on warrants for conspiracy to deliver cocaine and ongoing criminal conduct. He was booked into the Emmet county jail on a 26-thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
The search at 627 South 11th street resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Manuel Acosta, Jr. of Estherville. He was charged with delivery of cocaine, delivery of marijuana, ongoing criminal conduct, possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Acosta, Jr. was booked into the Emmet county jail on a 38,500-dollar cash or surety bond.
