(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, willful injury, assault while participating in a felony; going armed with intent and domestic assault.
An attorney for 21-year-old Jeffrey Wittler entered the written plea today (Monday) in Dickinson County District Court.
The charges against Wittler stem from an incident on June 1st when Spirit Lake police were called to a report of an assault at 2321 Quail Run Avenue in Spirit Lake. Police say a female at that residence had been assaulted with a knife, causing serious injuries.
Wittler was arrested a short time after the incident.
A date for a trial hasn’t been set.
