(Spirit Lake)– Only minor injuries were reported this (Monday) afternoon in Spirit Lake when a truck collided with a bicyclist at the corner of Hill Avenue and Lake Street.
Spirit Lake police say 42-year-old Brian Grover of Spencer was driving a truck owned by Coffee King eastbound on Lake Street and was attempting to turn right onto Hill Avenue when he collided with a bike ridden by 12-year-old Jacob Phillips of Spirit Lake who was northbound in the crosswalk.
Phillips was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare where he was treated for some minor injuries.
No damage was reported to the truck or bike.
Grover was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
The mishap took place around 12:42 p.m.
