(Jackson, Mn.)– A Bettendorf, Iowa man was injured Sunday when a motorcycle he was driving collided with a deer on Highway 71 about seven miles north of the Iowa border in Jackson county.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 51-year-old Ben Riedel of Bettendorf was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson southbound when he collided with a deer that came up out of the east side of the roadway.
Riedel was taken to the Jackson Medical Center where he was treated for scrapes on his legs, hands and arms.
Severe damage was reported to the motorcycle.
The collision took place shortly before Noon.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
