ILCC Trustees Reject Bids On Building Project

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– Meeting Tuesday at the Emmetsburg campus, trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College rejected bids for a proposed Construction Technology classroom and an alternate bid for a shop. College officials say the bids came in over budget.

Trustees approved a direct loan plan for students for the 2009-2010 academic year. Through the program, student loan applications go directly through the U.S. Department of Education. College officials say direct lending assures student access to loans as well as being an efficient processing system.

Trustees also Tuesday were presented with a proposal for a plant fund vote in September, 2010. The vote will be on a proposal to renew a current levy already in place in the college’s five-county region.

ILCC trustees also approved the first reading of an addition to a board policy that involves potential identity theft. The amended policy was developed to ensure additional safety for the financial accounts of students paying tuition through a monthly payment plan.
