(Spirit Lake)– A meeting to discuss healthcare reform that was hosted by a representative of U.S. Senator Tom Harkin’s office drew a group of protesters outside the Dickinson County Courthouse this (Tuesday) afternoon.
The group expressed its concerns over the President’s proposed policy as the meeting with citizens was going on inside.
Harkin is a key player in the debate, as chairs the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee’s Prevention and Public Health Working Group charged with crafting the prevention and public health components of the health reform bill.
Residents were given an opportunity to give input, share concerns and ask questions.
