Sioux Falls-Based Healthcare Provider Makes Offer To Purchase Jackson Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health has offered to buy a hospital it leases in Jackson.

Dennis Finstad, Board Chairman of Sanford Hospital Jackson, says such a move would better ensure the future of the facility.

The Jackson City Council will have to approve the deal. Sanford says that could happen as early as September.

Sanford did not release financial details of its offer, but did say the deal would include construction upgrades including surgery renovation, a renovated emergency room, and upgrades to radiology and imaging including a new permanent CT scanner.

The Sanford Health System recently announced a merger with Fargo, North Dakota-based Meritcare.
