(Milford)– The Milford city council Monday tabled action on a request by the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa to fill in a depression near their shelter on the northeast side of Milford.
Director Kate Wittrock told the council it would give them more parking, saying some of their clientelle ocasionally have to park along the side of an extremely busy road.
Wittrock added it could also help in the winter with a problem they have with snowmobiles being operated on their property.
Saying the Trails Board should be included in the matter, the council voted unanimously to table the issue so they could be contacted as well.
In other action, the council was updated on recent action by the Dickinson county board of supervisors regarding the Lower Gar Outlet; and they approved the third reading and adopted an ordinance establishing no parking areas near the Okoboji Elementary School.
Police Chief Vernon Flack says officers will issue warnings to violators during the first week of school, with citations being issued beginning the next week.
