(Spencer)– Spencer police say some of the golf balls reported stolen from the Spencer Municipal Golf Course have been returned.
Over 500 practice golf balls from the course’s driving range had been reported stolen during the night of August 12th or early in the morning August 13th.
On Saturday, golf course employees discovered someone had returned to the course the previous night and had returned several hundred of the missing balls. Police say they were found in a pile along one of the outlying tee boxes.
Police Chief Mark Lawson says the investigation continues and it’s hoped the rest of the missing items are also returned.
