Report Of Burning Marijuana Smell Results In Two Arrests

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– An investigation Monday evening into a complaint of a smell of marijuana being burned at a Spirit Lake apartment resulted in the arrests of two people.

Spirit Lake police say they were called to apartment eight at 606 Lake Street after getting the complaint shortly after 6:00 p.m.

A subsequent investigation and search turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana.

23-year-old Ashley Fields of Spirit Lake and 29-year-old Robert Alexander of Sutherland were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spirit Lake police were assisted in the investigation by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
