November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A committee that’s been looking at ways to improve the quality of life for Spencer residents will unveil a list of projects it’s identified to accomplish that goal later this week.

The Spencer Area Vision Committee has been meeting over the past year and has come up with 36 projects designed to accomplish its goal. Some are on a one-year time frame; others will take a couple of years to carry out.

The list of projects will be made public during a ceremony at Noon this Thursday, October 8th, at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer.

Over 50 different organizations, educationals institutions and government entities have been identified as having either a lead or support role in the process of moving forward.

The group researched outside consultants and collaborated with the Institute for Decision Making through the University of Northern Iowa.

The process included talks with a cross-section of Spencer residents representing a wide variety of entities, industries, organizations and institutions.
