November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A single-vehicle rollover Sunday north of Sheldon injured a Sheldon man.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Adam Driesen of Sheldon was southbound on a county road when he lost control of a 1997 Ford pickup. The vehicle left the road and rolled several times.

Authorities say Driesen wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

He was taken to Sanford Hospital in Sheldon and was airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.

The sheriff’s office says alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which took place around 3:30 a.m.

The pickup was totaled.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sheldon Fire and ambulance; the Sheldon Police Department and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
