Milford Council Hears Request For Space In Old Fire Station

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– The Milford city council is considering a request from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to lease space in the city’s old fire station.

Chad Loreth of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said that agency is willing to pay the city one thousand dollars a month over the next five years in exchange for allowing it to use two offices and three bays.

Loreth says the agency has outgrown the current facility where it’s storing firefighting equipment. He says the gear is used to help local fire departments battle fires on land the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service owns and maintains in the region.

The council took no action on the lease proposal Monday. The matter was referred to the city’s Building and Equipment Committee for a recommendation.
