(Spirit Lake)– A major announcement today (Friday) from the Friends of the Sami Center and Pearson Lakes Art Center. The two entities held a joint press conference to announce Boni Pueri, or the Czech Boys Choir, will putting on a concert during the upcoming holiday season at the Sami Bedell Center For the Performing Arts in Spirit Lake.
Tom Tourville of the Pearson Lakes Art Center says the group will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 23rd.
Tickets are $20 for adults; $17 for students, and will go on sale this coming Monday, October 19th. The box office will be open extended hours–until 9:00 p.m.–this coming Wednesday, October 21st.
Terry Miller of the Friends of The Sami Center says this is the second production they and the Pearson Lakes Art Center have team up with to bring to the area.
Miller and Tourville say they’re looking for families who would be willing to provide housing to the boys the night of November 23rd. They’ll be leaving the area early the next morning. 14 homes are needed, with two boys staying at each home. The boys, ranging in age from 14 to 20, DO speak english. Miller says complimentary tickets will be made available to those who house the boys. Anyone interested should contact Miller at the Sami Center or Danielle at the Pearson Lakes Art Center.
Tourville and Miller say they’ve been working the past eight to nine months to bring the group to the area.
They say it wouldn’t have been possible without the joint venture.
Spirit Lake is one of 40 venues they’ll be performing while touring the U.S.
