(Spirit Lake)– A routine traffic stop late Monday night in Spirit Lake resulted in multiple charges being filed against a Spirit Lake resident.
Spirit Lake police say officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Kelly Thompson, Junior of Spirit Lake shortly before midnight.
Upon further investigation and a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers found what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A subsequent search of apartment number six at 606 Lake Street in Spirit Lake turned up more of what’s alleged to be marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Thompson was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, first offense…a serious misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to maintain a license plate and operation without registration…all simple misdemeanors.
