Inmate Accused Of Smuggling Contraband Into Clay County Jail

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– An inmate has been charged for allegedly trying to smuggle contraband into the Clay county jail.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were notified by jail staff that an inmate, 23-year-old Dustin Coates of Paullina, was allegedly in possession of illegal contraband.

A routine search by jail staff turned up what’s alleged to be a non-prescription medication in Coates’ jail cell.

Coates was charged with possession of contraband in a correctional facility.
