(Spirit Lake)– Two teens accused of stealing beer from a Spirit Lake grocery store early this (Tuesday) morning were arrested following a short foot pursuit.
Spirit Lake police say they were called around 1:00 a.m. on a report that two young males had left the Hy-Vee store without paying for two cases of beer.
A short time later, police found the two suspects hiding a few blocks away.
Following a short foot pursuit, the officers apprehended the two without incident.
Shaun Fox and Joshua Currier…both of Spirit Lake and both 18-years-old…were arrested on charges of fifth degree theft, interference with official acts, possession of alcohol under the legal age, and littering…all simple misdemeanors.
Fox was also charged with public intoxication…a serious misdemeanor.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and the Okoboji Police Department.
