Jackson County Rollover Injures Three Teens

November 22, 2014

(Lakefield, Mn.)– A single-vehicle rollover Monday afternoon southeast of Lakefield sent three teens to the hospital.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called around 3:20 p.m. to 810th Street just west of 490th Avenue in Hunter Township.

Authorities say 16-year-old Kody Burmeister of Lakefield was driving a 1988 Ford pickup westbound on 810th Street when he lost control. The vehicle went into the north ditch and rolled several times, winding up in a cornfield.

Burmeister and two passengers–15-year-old Jayden Montz and 15-year-old Alyssa Paulson…both of Lakefield…were all ejected from the vehicle. One was pinned under the vehicle.

All three were taken by ambulance to Jackson Sanford Hospital. Two victims were airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls; the third was transported by ground ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.

There was no word on the nature or extent of their injuries.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Jackson Fire and Ambulance Service and the Lakefield Ambulance Service.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
