(Sibley)– A pursuit Friday that went through portions of O’Brien and Osceola counties landed a Primghar man in jail.
Authorities say it started when Sheldon police attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Ricky Sohn of Primghar on Highway 60 south of Sheldon. Sohn refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit that went northbound on Highway 60 in the southbound lane into Osceola county where stop sticks were deployed. Sohn was finally stopped by officers who used their vehicles to box him in in the area of Highway 60 and County Road A-34.
Sohn was taken into custody and was charged with driving while intoxicated…second offense…an aggravated misdemeanor; eluding…a serious misdemeanor; and reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway…both simple misdemeanors.
Sohn was booked into the Osceola county jail on a 3,600-dollar bond.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and Sheldon police were assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
